First Thunderstorm of the year…
We had our first thunderstorm of the year last night. OMG… I was able to go to sleep with a window cracked for the first time this year as well. I woke up from a dead sleep with the sound of thunder. Now I know I’m 30-something years old and am a big girl… but I have to admit that thunder and lightening… just not my thing! So I got up and closed the window because our bedroom is on the side of the house with all the pine trees and when it rains and is windy the rain tends to come in the house… I then laid in bed and shook for about 45 mins until I guess I shook myself to sleep.

Flowers & Showers…
Yup… I’m sneaking my head back in here… I know I know I promised and I’ve failed miserably… but I’m here now… so that must count for something… ANYWAY… The flowers are starting to pop up everywhere. I have some irises that are shooting up and I have a small patch of Daffodils that I didn’t plant that were here on the property. They are in the yard which upsets me cause I don’t want hubby to run over them with the mower… but at least I’ll have something pretty to look at. Hubby also planted two roses… One is called The Scarlett Knight and the other is called Tiffany. The Scarlett Knight is a really pretty deep red color and the Tiffany is a beautiful pink. I can’t wait to see them bloom. We’ve been getting more rain lately.. and they are calling for Thunder Storms this evening… always a sign that spring is on it’s way. Not to mention the fact that the kids have been having tornado drills at school -shivers- and we all know how scared of Tornadoes I am…

…I THINK NOT!!
I hate Fridays!! Why? Because the peace and quiet that I get in the house during the week… ends at 4pm when the last of my three hooligans comes in the door. Its even worse this weekend as it’s a 3 day weekend for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday! Don’t get me wrong… I love my kids!! BUT when they are off again so close to the Winter Break plus the two days they were off last week cause of the snow… Well… ya kinda get a wee bit frustrated over the silliest things. The boys fighting over the games and Ranna being a typical 14 year old… well it gets taxing!

I thought I’d share my year in review as I wasn’t such a good blogger…
January 2009 -
I was happily employed by Sunnyside School District working with my Mom on a daily basis. Hubby was still unemployed and fighting to find a job. Things weren’t so lovely between us… between us and the kids… and in general. Money was tight.. we did good to pay the rent every month. But we still squeeked by. Dilly turned 11 and was shooting up like a weed. He had grown a lot but still no weight gain. I was excited to have two new nephews the month before!
